We strongly feel that overseas students should get more from the school than just English lessons. Meeting new friends and having a healthy social life are just as important.
We have developed a program of activities that will take place every month. This includes movie nights, quiz nights, trips to important tourist destinations in the UK and trips in Europe as well as visits to the theatre or the ballet in London or locally in Watford.
This year’s events include theatre trips, visits to Oxford, Cambridge, Windsor and London and parties organised by students and the teaching staff.
A typical trip to the theatre in London costs around £25 plus fares. A trip to Cambridge is around £23 for the minibus, a guided tour and punting and in 2007 we took students to Paris for £50 to cover travel and hostel accommodation.
We are having a party at Halloween as well as Christmas this year.
Travel
We are planning a number of trips for students from Friday evenings through to Sunday. These include trips by minibus or low cost airline to Paris, Amsterdam, Rome and Barcelona. (Subject to students' visa restrictions)
The school is located 15 miles from Luton airport where major low cost carriers such as EasyJet operate flying to locations all over Europe. This will allow us to organise trips to more distant place such as Rome or Athens where there is a wealth of historical and cultural places to visit and enjoy. (Subject to students' visa restrictions)
These trips are organised to respond to the wishes of students and we hope students will come to Prospect wanting to see the sites not only of the London and the UK but also the rest of Europe.
